The Fantom is the first 'FanTech' wearable device, a smart-band that could change the way fans engage with their favourite teams, artists and performers.
After a year of development and a beta trial with Manchester City FC, the Fantom rolled out in the UK. It includes match stats, inside team information, geo-located updates, polls, quizzes and a countdown to kick-off, as well as a hardware capability that could offer new e-commerce opportunities at games and shows and allow location-based social interactions with other fans. The device was created by the Turnpike Group and Bartle Bogle Hegarty, which provided concept, branding, coding and marketing, with Sir John Hegarty serving as an investor and advisor.
