The pop-up bar was first staged at Manchester Airport this summer in June, offering cocktails including 'Tom & Tonics' and 'Manchester Bee'. The Heathrow version is running until the 31 August.

The gin was launched last year by Quintessential Brands, named after Thomas Dakin, the founder of the 'world's first quality' English gin. The brand's heritage is rooted in Manchester, as is currently made by G&J Distillers in Warrington.

Commenting on the Manchester activation, David Hume from Thomas Dakin Distillers said: "We have been overwhelmed by the positive response to Thomas Dakin by travellers using Manchester airport. The distinctive packaging, award-winning taste and local roots of our gin have been a real hit with the local, national and international travellers, as illustrated by our record sales, and we look forward to building on this success with Biza Tax & Duty Free in the months ahead."

The Thomas Dakin Gin bar at Manchester airport is part of an integrated plan in travel retail to showcase the small batch gin to travellers in key airports across Europe, with London Heathrow the next stage of the activation.

London Heathrow recently hosted a month-long whisky event and last year showcased a sound-emitting luggage trolley to mark the airport's first Terminal 2 birthday.
