TikTok showcases the inner workings of the viral video with a toe-tapping sea shanty.
The ad begins as Scottish postman Nathan Evans sings a sea shanty, Wellerman. Soon, the pitch-perfect masses of TikTok users join in to create a full-bodied version of the track, which Evans has since released as a song.
The ad debuted on Saturday (23 January) during the FA Cup and will run alongside digital activity. The work was created by Rob De Souza and Archie Challen. Media is handled by Zenith.
In November last year, TikTok unveiled a spot featuring Idris Elba, Maya Jama and Gordon Ramsay to highlight the perks and perils of 2020.
