Times exec says paywall not aimed at 'young people'

In a revealing disclosure a senior editor working on The Times has said that the paper is not interested in young people, which as an audience group have declined since News International erected its paywall.

Assistant editor for online Tom Whitwell told editorsweblog.org that "young people are not a particular target of this particular product [The Times]".

It raises questions about the number of subscribers the paper is attracting online for which no data will be made available for weeks or months according to the interview.
