Tucker, who has been working on a freelance basis, most recently as the acting executive creative director at M&C Saatchi, will join Leo Burnett next month.

His appointment follows the departure of Leo Burnett's previous creative director Jim Bolton, who has since joined CHI & Partners.

Tucker and Tindall worked together for 17 years, including a seven-year stint as creative partners at DDB London. They split when Tindall joined The Red Brick Road as a partner in 2006.

After Tindall's departure. Tucker became the creative director of DDB London. He left to join Bartle Bogle Hegarty as a creative director, working on campaigns such as Barclaycard "rollercoaster".

After leaving BBH, Tucker went freelance and worked at agencies including Wieden & Kennedy, Saatchi & Saatchi, Mother and M&C Saatchi.

Tindall said: "This is a key role and Adam was the obvious and only choice – we finish each other's sentences."

Tucker said: "Leo Burnett has an incredible client list matched by ferocious creative ambition. It has a close-knit team running the show, which was an absolute clincher for me. This isn't putting the old band back together."
