He starts his new position in March and will lead a nine-strong management team, as well as overseeing strategy and growth for the global production company.
Toaldo quit Ingram in July last year, three months before the agency closed its London office after failing to find a buyer or merger target in the wake of unrealised growth ambitions.
He has previously held managing director roles at Euro RSCG, Partners BDDH and Rapier. Toaldo said: "Hub+ is pioneering production services for clients, and I look forward to driving its strategy and growth."
His appointment follows the surprise departure of the joint managing partners Kevan Thorn and Mark Rhys-Thomas in November.
In December, Hub+ hired Graham Bibby as its chief operating officer. He was previously the chief operating officer of the Omnicom agency Roberts & Tarlow.
