Tony Kaye has begun a major overhaul of his commercials-making

interests after the departure of a management tier of the K Media

group.

The joint managing directors, Graham Collis and David Wardlaw, as well

as the commercials director, Steve Lepley, all resigned last month

following discussions over the future direction of the company. Kaye has

pledged to take time out from his career in feature films to spend ’one

week in four or five’ in London to help fill the vacuum, and to act as a

’helper’ to the 15 commercials directors on his books.

’I felt I had to come back and take a hands-on role because, although

we’re very much into diversifying the activities of the company, we felt

they as management were not looking after what we considered to be the

core of the company - its commercials production,’ Kaye said.

But Lepley claimed: ’They (Kaye and his wife, Eugenia) are not

comfortable in areas outside commercials.’

The trio are now advising other production companies.
