Top five brand experience stories of the week

Uber's secret gigs, London's first Evian pop-up shop and an NHS activation at Glastonbury are the top experiential stories of the week.

1. Uber gigs

Uber suprised users with secret gigs in eight locations across the UK, including London, Dublin, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Newcastle on Thursday night (18 June). The taxi service brand worked with Sofar Sounds to deliver the experience.

Event headed to one of three London-based Uber gigs at One Red Eye photography studio in Peckham. This was our favourite Uber activation since the brand's #UberKittens camapign in Australia earlier this year.

2. Evian pop-up

Evian opened its first London pop-up in Piccadilly Circus tube station this week with the help of agency N2O. The shop is open until September and visitors will be able to enter a competition to win tickets to The Championships, Wimbledon.

As it is the tournament's official sponsor, Event caught up with brand manager Georgina Keeley on Evian's experiential lounge at Wimbledon this year.

3. Event Awards judges

Event revealed its 15-person line up of judges for this year's Event Awards this week, which will take place at the Eventim Apollo on 14 October.

The judging panel includes brand managers at L'Oréal, Innocent and Sony, and agency representatives such as Michael Brown, managing director, psLIVE UKTom Rutter, managing director, Slice and Paul Saville, joint managing director, Wasserman Experience.

4. NHS at Glastonbury

With Glasto approaching next week, it's no suprise that news of an NHS activation made the top five most-read stories of the past seven days. The NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) division announced a partnership with Glastonbury festival, where the company will stage a 'Headline Act' activation. The experience is designed to encourage guests to sign up to become a blood donor.

5. Secret Cinema

Secret Cinema appears in Event's top stories list for the third time with a pictures story of its Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back experience

This year organisers have held a Star Wars day at Alexandra Palace in London, launched a secret nightlcub and opened a pop-up shop in Shoreditch offering fancy dress attire.
