The Conservative Party’s seminal ’Labour isn’t working’ has been
voted Britain’s Best Poster of the Century by a jury of leading London
creative directors, headed by Ron Brown, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO’s head
of art.
The Saatchi & Saatchi poster beat the First World War recruitment ad
’Lord Kitchener wants you’ into second place, with CDP’s Benson & Hedges
’pyramids’ in third.
The top ten also included Guinness ’for strength’, The Economist
’management trainee’, Health Education Council ’pregnant man’, Araldite
’sticks’, Ministry of War ’careless talk ...’, Benetton ’baby’, and
Wonderbra ’Hello Boys’.
The top ten will feature in Campaign’s 100 Best Posters of the Century,
