Total Media has walked off with another dotcom client -the online
betting company FirstStake.com.
Heather Wallington, FirstStake’s sales and marketing manager, saw
pitches from Expert Media and The Media-networks International before
awarding the contract to Total Media.
The Kensington-based agency has already begun a planning and buying push
to drum up interest in FirstStake, which went live during Euro 2000.
Nick Hammond, Total Media’s media director, has booked advertisements in
the national press to run over the next few weeks.
Hammond, who is building a new team, will follow the national press push
by placing ads in sports titles and men’s lifestyle magazines.
He will also line up media deals around major sporting events. The
overall aim is to target sports fans rather than experienced
The online service is owned by an independent bookmaker that is also
called First Stake. It has operated betting shops in the Midlands,
South-east and West Country for more than 14 years.
Total Media already works for Amazon, online games outfit Won.net and
Guy Sellers, joint managing director of Total Media, said: ’We seem to
have proved our ability to plan and buy effectively across all media and
to think creatively for clients that are looking to launch.’
