Tracks of the Month

Michelle Curran's career began as Head of Promos at Island and London Records. She then set up and ran Logorhythm Music and the Real Music Co, before starting Amber Music in 1996. Renowned for producing tracks with an edge, Amber boasts London's leading ad agencies as clients - plus those in NY, LA, Chicago, Berlin and Amsterdam.

"Stop that bleedin' racket! The fellow in this spot needs to be alone with his stereo. And he would be if it wasn't for the clamour outside: people breathing, whistling, breakdancing. This spot actually invites us into the mind of the sound designer, which, it has to be said, is a mildly disturbing place. My favourite bit is when our central character, let's call him Gus, finally manages to close the window and turns on the music. Gorgeous minimalist glitch tones play out the spot as Gus settles down for an evening in. Simple and very catchy, showing that ad music doesn't have to be complicated."
