Mindshare UK has hired three strategy directors in line with the agency's plans to focus more on strategic and adaptive planning. Rami Amaral, Julian Ireland and Chris Barrett will all report to the head of strategy, Alistair Green. (Campaign)

CHI & Partners' first "suit", Danny Josephs, has left the agency after 12 years to run WPP's Team News dedicated unit servicing The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times. (Campaign)

Chris Slough, a former OgilvyOne deputy managing director, is returning to the WPP agency to run the British Airways business, following a two-year spell with Proximity London and Iris Worldwide. (Campaign)

Johnny Fearless, the independent agency, has appointed Nick Gutfreund as its first non-executive chairman. (Campaign)

Maxus has appointed Bijan White, the EMEA digital strategy director for OMD International, as its EMEA head of digital to provide an additional tier of leadership across the region. (Campaign)

Cheil UK has promoted Matt Pye, its managing director, to the role of chief operating officer. (Campaign)

M/SIX, the UK-based media agency joint venture between GroupM and CHI & Partners, is expanding into the US and has appointed ZenithOptimedia's David Stopforth to lead its North American operations. (Campaign)

Starcom MediaVest Group has appointed Simon Pont, Vizeum's chief strategist, as its chief strategy officer to lead campaign strategy across the group, two years after the departure of Richard Hartell. (Campaign)

MediaCom has appointed Specific Media's Martin Galvin to the new role of trading director. (Campaign)

Marketing

Facebook has appointed former Motorola and Google marketing boss Gary Briggs to the newly created role of chief marketing officer. (Marketing)

Samsung Electronics UK has appointed former Unilever marketer Russell Taylor to the new role of vice-president of corporate marketing. (Marketing)

Media

ESI Media, the commercial department that represents The Independent, the London Evening Standard and i, has appointed Simon Poole as its group sales director ahead of its launch of London Live TV. (Media Week)

PR

Richard Stokoe has returned to PR with a role at Brent Council after making himself redundant from London Fire Brigade earlier this year. (PR Week)

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has hired Virgin Trains' Arthur Leathley as its director of comms. (PR Week)

Delroy Corinaldi, the first director of external affairs at debt charity StepChange, has left after four years in the job. A StepChange spokeswoman said the charity was planning to recruit a successor, but had not yet commenced the process. (PR Week)

Hill+Knowlton Strategies' tech MD Grant Currie has exited the firm for a new agency role. It is understood Currie is to take up a senior position at Porter Novelli. (PR Week)
