Chris Parry, the former chairman of Publicis Dialog, is to join the
Triangle group in the new position of group chief executive.
Parry quit Dialog last month after a number of differences of opinion
with the main Publicis board, led by the group chairman, Rick Bendel
(Campaign, 22 October).
He had moved to Dialog only three months earlier from FCA!, where he was
also chairman.
Triangle Communications is the UK’s largest independent promotional
marketing agency, and its clients include Cadbury, Guinness, Safeway, BP
and BT.
Parry will oversee the main agency, as well as its specialist retail
sister, Storm Marketing, and the design and production arm, Eye II Eye
Communications.
’I’m really looking forward to joining an independent company in which
the decision-making process for driving the brand forward will be a lot
easier than it is in a large corporation,’ Parry said.
His appointment will allow the chairman and founding partner of
Triangle, Kevin Twittey, to become more internally focused and step back
from the day-to-day operational responsibilities.
Twittey said: ’Our restructure into three operating companies has
enabled us to focus successfully on our clients’ business.
’As a result, we are now ready to expand the business further, and we
wanted someone with a proven track record to lead the group corporately,
enabling me to concentrate on our product. We have an excellent
management team here and we will all benefit from Chris’s knowledge,
enthusiasm and expertise.’
Parry’s brief includes an acquisition offensive that will target
companies providing disciplines that are not yet offered by the group.
