The course will begin in September 2016. TRO will help with the development of course materials, the delivery of some course content and the provision of real-life case studies for students to work on.
Successful students will also be given the opportunity to work within the agency on one-year work placements, as well as post-graduation.
As part of the new relationship, TRO has hired current Sheffield Hallam student Ellie Montague as events administrator. Currently in her second year of the university’s Events Management course, she will help with the smooth running of the agency on a daily basis, supporting the team with venue sourcing, events organisation and communications.
Nicky Morgan, TRO’s group talent director, said: "We are truly excited about this association with Sheffield Hallam University, a leading university in the delivery of Events Management courses. This initiative forms the basis of TRO’s drive to discover and nurture the future talent of the event marketing industry.
"A number of our account executives and managers have either studied at Sheffield Hallam, or joined us on work placements, so it feels entirely natural to formalise our association in this way."
Mark Norman, recruitment lead for Events Management at Sheffield Hallam, added: "We’re thrilled to be able to offer this new course in International Events Management with Experiential Marketing, in association with an organisation as well-known and respected in the sector as TRO.
"This course will provide students with fantastic and unique opportunities to develop skills that are highly in-demand from employers in a growing global sector, as well as benefitting from a year working in industry that gives them the opportunity to put their learning into practice and learn valuable on-the-job skills before they graduate."
