Trust-On-Line to provide consumer watchdog service.

More than 200 online retailers including Virgin Wines, PlayStation Direct, BOL.com and Abbey Road Studios have signed up to a consumer watchdog scheme (www.trust-on-line.co.uk) set to launch in October.

Under the scheme, which has gained the backing of Lloyds of London, customers will be able to contact a dedicated call centre if they have any complaints about a product or service purchased through an online retailer.

All participating retailers must agree to conform to the scheme's code of practice, which includes guidelines on clear product description, clear pricing and meeting delivery times.
