end of this year.

In order to cling on to ’twitchy’ staff threatened by the impending

consolidation of ITV, senior figures at TSMS said it was imperative to

keep a happy ship.

A source at TSMS said: ’We have a business to run and despite uncertain

times, things must go on as smoothly as possible. This is good news for

the agencies because it means the service levels will remain

unhindered.’

He added: ’At some stage, three sales points will be reduced to two. Our

concern is that we retain staffing levels no matter what happens.’

It was also rumoured last week that staff at Carlton who brought in a

new employee would be awarded pounds 1,000, cash in hand.

A Granada insider joked: ’All we got was a bottle of champagne.’
