Francesca Newland was not impressed by the new Co-op ad: ’The word
’co-operative’ sounds nothing like the phrase ’cool for cats’. That is
when Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters should have abandoned the idea of
labouring with some lyrics until they vaguely fit the tune of the famous
Squeeze hit. And I’m sick of ads that attempt to identify with the
plight of parents by using a chaotic child’s party scene. This ad is not
cool enough for budgies or poodles, let alone cats.’
