Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper is taking the Twiglets brand into the cinema
for the first time in its 60-year history.
Three national TV and cinema ads, which break this week, were filmed
using a secret camera and observe the public’s reaction to a man dressed
up as a giant Twiglet making inane requests to passers-by.
The ads are promoting Twiglets’s three existing flavours - original,
curry and tangy - and will be used to target 18- to -25-year-olds, a
younger market than that targeted in previous campaigns.
One execution shows the Twiglet approaching a hot-dog stall in a
shopping centre and asking the assistant if she serves Twiglets. Then he
asks for a hug and finally asks her to lick him.
The second ad, filmed on Brighton beach, shows the Twiglet talking to an
unsuspecting family and asking them to rub tangy sauce over him to
In the final spot the Twiglet is seen making a dash for the sea
shouting, ’I’m on fire, I’m hot, I’m covered in curry, I’m burning up,’
before plunging in.
All three executions finish with the line: ’Twiglets. They’re not
’The Twiglets brand is famous for its unique British humour,’ Corinne
White, board account director at Euro RSCG, said. ’The campaign brings
the off-the-wall personality to a new audience, while communicating the
great new flavours.’
The campaign was co-written and art directed by Paul Copeland and Simon
Haynes. The films were directed by Mark Denton through Blink Films.
