LONDON - Twitter has revealed plans to ban third-party ad services, threatening the future of independent Twitter-based ad networks.

Twitter appears to be concerned that this will impact the success of its Promoted Tweet Program, which along with its soon-to-be-launched commercial accounts, is its only source of revenue and means of maintaining Twitter.
