The UK-wide UberTrees initiative will be available to Uber customers in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Sheffield, Bristol, Merseyside, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Portsmouth, Leicester and Windsor.

Users of the app will be able to request a special ‘Trees’ option tomorrow (12 December) from 1pm to 5pm. If successful, a driver will deliver a five-foot high Nordman Fir to their door for £10 a pop.

UberTrees is also taking place in countries around Europe, including France, Portugal, The Netherlands and Austria.

Jo Bertram, regional general manager for Uber in the UK, said: "This Saturday people will also be able to request a Christmas tree to their front door at the push of a button. We will deliver a beautiful Nordman Fir right to your home and take some of the hassle out of getting ready for Christmas."

UberTrees is the latest in Uber's line of one-off experiences. Past events have included the Uber Live music events, its #BackseatArt initiative and ice cream delivery service.
