The brand has partnered with music events company Sofar Sounds to create the Uber Live experience.

Users will be given the chance to attend one of eight gigs held at secret venues in either London, Dublin, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or Newcastle. The events promise intimate, live music performances from rising and established stars.

To be in with a chance of entry to the events, Uber app users have been asked to enter a code into the promotions section before 5pm today. Successful applicants will be able to request a special Uber Live vehicle to whisk them to the venue with a friend for free.

Jo Bertram, regional general manager of Uber UK and Ireland, said: "Uber has always been about connecting people - whether that’s riders to drivers on the platform or people across the city. With Uber Live, we are able to use our technology to give our riders a new experience, helping them discover new neighbourhoods, venues and music in their city."

Tom Lovett, commercial director of Sofar Sounds, added: "Sofar Sounds is all about the magic that happens when you bring great people together to do great things, in new and exciting ways around their city. Partnering with Uber for Uber Live gives us the opportunity to further do just that - allowing more music lovers to discover the Sofar experience in the process."
