- United Distillers & Vintners has shifted its global advertising account out of the Lowe Group, awarding J Walter Thompson with the Smirnoff, Baileys and Malibu business on a worldwide basis.
The combined accounts are worth £13.5 million in the UK alone.
All international business has now been centralised into two networks: Leo Burnett handles Gordon's Gin and Johnnie Walker, while JWT adds the former Lowe brands to its existing J&B Scotch whiskey and Tanqueray gin business.
Court Burkitt & Company, which handles a range of UDV brands, including Bell's, Pimm's and Archers in the UK, is unaffected.
Miles Colebrook, group president international at JWT, said: "We started working with UDV 18 months ago on J&B whisky and Tanqueray. These additional brand assignments are tremendous news for the JWT/UDV team around the world. They are great brands with enormous opportunity for growth and UDV is in great shape to drive them forward."
