Two creatives, Ramesh Bhuller and Leo Poloniecki, who have never

worked together formally, are to represent the UK at the Young Creatives

competition in Cannes.

The pair will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Cannes to take part

in the finals, which will be held during the festival at the end of next

month.

Bhuller, 27, and Poloniecki, 24, both work at Miller Bainbridge in

different departments - Bhuller in the design studio and Poloniecki as a

copywriter on relationship marketing material. The pair decided to

create a portfolio in their spare time to try to further their careers.

They were chosen after a stiff selection process which involved working

on a specific brief, interviews and submission of portfolio work.

Chris O’Shea, the executive creative director at Banks Hoggins

O’Shea/FCB and the D&AD educational chairman, said that this year’s

brief - the launch of an e-bank - was a hard one to crack. ’We chose Leo

and Ram not only because of the way they tackled the brief and their

portfolio but because they also have determination.’

He added: ’They are keen. They have a real hunger to be successful.’
