Rob Van Pooss’ outfit UKRD is one of the first radio companies to
post its inventory on the online auction service iMediapoint.
Van Pooss, UKRD’s group national sales director, has used the site to
post a sponsorship opportunity for a new syndicated radio show. The show
is on electronic trading and advertisers are being offered ad slots
before, during and after the show.
The programme will be broadcast every Saturday and syndicated across 15
UK radio stations. The package offers advertisers a combined audience
reach of three-and-a-half million.
Van Pooss said iMediapoint is paid for each deal that is done via the
website. Payment is based on the value of each order.
The package has been put together with an internet-literate audience in
mind. However, it is also available to advertisers through UKRD’s
national sales house Clear Channel Radio Sales.
Van Pooss added: ’iMediapoint will offer simple and easy access to our
stations and, if people decide they do not want to do business, they can
just click off.’
GWR has already made some of its digital airtime available through
Ivan Clark, iMediapoint’s new-media director, said the company is
expecting to sign up more radio oufits in the near future.
