- Umbro, the sports brand, has appointed Fallon to handle its advertising in the run up to Euro 2000.
Fallon won the business following a pitch against a number of unnamed agencies. For the last two years Umbro has been working with Cheetham Bell. It is understood that the Manchester agency did not take part in the review.
Umbro, which is the official supplier of football kit to the England soccer team, spent around £1 million on advertising last year. However, it is expected to significantly increase its ad spend in the run up to and during the Euro 2000 tournament as it fights to compete against larger rivals Nike and Adidas.
