A Syrian girl's journey across the Mediterranean has been turned into an animated tale and shown at the Supporting Syria & the Region conference in London today (4 February).
180 Los Angeles created the film, in which seven-year-old Malak recounts her dangerous journey. The spot is one of a handful of Unicef’s "unfairy tales", which contrast cute visuals with the harsh realities of some children’s lives. The films are part of Unicef’s #NoLostGeneration campaign marking five years of the Syrian conflict. Visual direction was by Adhemas Batista and André Holzmeister through House of Colors.
