United Biscuits hires roster of three agencies

United Biscuits has finalised a roster of three agencies that will handle digital-media activity across all its biscuit and snack brands, writes Steve Barrett.

The FMCG giant handed roster places to Oyster Partners, Cordiant's XM London and Wheel Group's Abel & Baker division, following an eight-way pitch.

Brand managers at United Biscuits, which owns household names such as Penguin, McCoys, McVitie's, KP Nuts and Hula Hoops, will choose between the agencies on a roster basis for the next 12 months.

Barry Kelly, e-business project co-ordinator at United Biscuits, is working with one of the agencies on a project at the moment.

KP Nuts (www.kpnuts.com) and McCoys (www.mccoys.co.uk) have holding pages promising full sites are "coming soon", while a Frisps site (www.frisps.co.uk) is "under development".
