Mother has added a sixth recruit to its core team with the arrival
of Franklin Tipton, an American art director who has worked with
Mother’s founder, Robert Saville, at GGT.
Tipton was most recently at Ground Zero, an agency in Santa Monica,
California, where he worked on campaigns including Virgin Cola,
Sega-Soft and ESPN-2.
Since leaving Ground Zero at the start of the year, he has been
snowboarding competitively in Chamonix, France, and surfing in South
Africa, as well as freelancing as an art director in London.
’Mother is just one of those deals. I was chuffed to get the opportunity
to work here,’ Tipton said. He was involved in the agency’s two recent
pitches for Kickers and CarLand, both won this month.
Three years ago, Tipton came to the UK to work for J. Walter Thompson’s
London office, having been at the network’s New York office for a number
of years, working on accounts including Ikea, British Knights trainers,
Swatch, Bubblicious Bubblegum and a condom boutique called
Condomania.
After a year at JWT in London, where he created a campaign for Everest
double-glazing, Tipton moved to GGT, where he partnered Jim Thornton and
produced press and poster work for Capital FM, Holsten Pils and
Do-It-All.
Saville said: ’Having headed our pitches for Kickers and CarLand, we are
glad Franklin is staying on to develop the creative for these accounts.’
