Viacom's Doughty leaves the industry

Laura Doughty, Viacom Outdoor's national sales director, has resigned after five years with the company, to pursue interests outside of media.

Doughty, who was responsible for Viacom Outdoor's 80-strong sales team, is leaving the industry to do voluntary work for the Labour Party ahead of the forthcoming election, before looking for a role in the charity sector.

She leaves in March and the task of replacing her falls to Tim Bleakley, who recently arrived at Viacom Outdoor as the company's joint manag-ing director. He replaced Clive Punter, who took on the chief operating officer role (Campaign, 15 October).

Doughty was promoted to the position of national sales director three years ago, following the departure of her long-standing predecessor Andy Moug, who left to set up a consultancy. Before taking on the national sales director job, Doughty was the company's head of client sales.

The news of her resignation comes as Viacom Outdoor prepares to re-tender for its London Underground contract, which comes up for statutory review next year.
