Video: Hovis launches bread rolls and mini-loaves with TV ad featuring Victorian girl

LONDON - Hovis has unveiled the follow-up to its epic 'Go On Lad' TV ad as part of a £1.5m marketing support package for its new range of bread rolls.

In a twist on the last campaign, which featured a boy running through the ages to modern day, this latest MCBD-created ad is set in the Victorian era and has a girl as the central character.  The ad, overseen by Hovis marketing director Jon Goldstone, will air this evening on ITV1

The new range of Hovis Rolls reflects the brand's bread lines including: Soft White, Best of Both and Seed Sensations, as well as the return of the Hovis mini-loaves.

The new campaign follows the relaunch of Hovis last year which owner Premier Foods said resulted in a 3% sales rise and an increase in market share to 25.7%. However, it still trails market leader Warburtons.

As well as introducing new packaging across all Hovis lines, Premier Foods has invested in reformulating all of its Hovis breads.
