Virgin Radio has launched a major recruitment drive to beef up its

agency sales force in preparation for growth at the Ginger Media

Group.

Lee Roberts, acting sales director at Virgin Radio, confirmed that the

group will expand its media properties next year.

’We are now looking for a major influx of agency people to sell across

the Ginger Media Group property for the year 2000,’ he said.

As part of the new recruitment drive, Virgin Radio has also poached Sky

sponsorship and sales controller Sue Watson to join its sales operation

as head of new business development.

Watson will join the sales management team early next year and will

concentrate on building client relationships through sponsorships across

the Ginger Media Group.

Watson will work closely with the programming as well as sales to

develop new broadcast sponsorship features and mini infomercials.
