VNUnet.com is the first company to advertise on personal digital

assistants (PDAs).

The information technology site has bought text-based ads on Guardian

Unlimited’s PDA service, which is available to owners of Psion

organisers and Palm Pilots. Users who click on the ad will be taken to a

microsite where they can find out more about the VNUnet service.

Those who enter their e-mail address on the microsite will receive

information on downloading the VNUnet Beenzcaster.

This offers news, information and Beenz, the online currency that can be

used for internet shopping.

The campaign broke last week and will run until 26 July. Guardian

Unlimited predicts the ad will be seen by 10,000 people a day.

Andrew Moore, sales executive at Guardian Unlimited, and Stef Adamczyk,

media manager at Media 21, negotiated the deal.

Guardian Unlimited offers content and ads on three digital

platforms.

TV is available through Cable & Wireless, PDA through Avant Go and WAP

through BT Cellnet and Orange.
