Fielding, who most recently held the role of vice president for marketing at Mondelez International, will take up the role on 24 June. She will report into Guy Laurence, Vodafone's UK chief executive.

She began her career in the ad agency sector, including roles with Lowe, DDB and Ogilvy, where she was one of the key architects of Dove’s "Campaign for Real Beauty".

In 2008, Fielding moved brand-side with the position of commercial director at The Independent in 2008.

She then joined Mondelez International – then known as Kraft Foods – in 2010 as vice president marketing, where she oversaw a number of brands including Cadbury Dairy Milk and Milka.
