Conde Nast is to back the launch of a fully featured Vogue UK website with a £4.5 million marketing budget and is seeking a London advertising agency to handle the task.
The Vogue site will deliver a daily news service, expanded editorial coverage and online forums aimed at style conscious online women.
Conde Nast was one of the first publishers to venture onto the web when it launched Vogue online in 1995. However, the site carried little editorial content and was never extensively developed.
The relaunch will put the site up against a raft of other recently launched women's sites including Associated's Charlottestreet.com and Hollinger Digital's handbag.com.
