W&K steals Steiner away from Fallon

Wieden & Kennedy has poached Rob Steiner, Grey London's head of broadcast, just a week before he was set to join Fallon.

Steiner, who joins W&K in the new position of director of operations, had signed with Fallon to work with the executive creative director, Richard Flintham, on producing long-form content alongside TV and digital campaigns. But he opted to return to W&K, where he was the head of TV until 2004.

At W&K, Steiner will be responsible for restructuring the agency and bringing its creative services, broadcast, interactive and print production units into a single department. Steiner starts with the agency next week, reporting to Neil Christie, the agency's managing director.

The role is part of the agency's strategy of offering non-traditional communications. Recently, W&K worked with Nokia to create the Christmas lights on Regent Street.

Before joining Grey, Steiner worked at W&K, where he produced a series of Honda campaigns, including "cog" and "grrr".
