Mother has won the brief to create a launch campaign for the first

women’s magazine from Wagadon, the publisher of Arena and the Face.

The publication does not yet have a name, but a shortlist of titles has

been drawn up. A decision is expected next week.

Mother will mastermind a campaign for the magazine’s autumn launch under

the editorship of Tina Gaudoin, the former deputy editor of Conde Nast’s

Tatler.

Lou McLeod, the publisher of the title, said: ’We were very selective

and we saw agencies only at the top end of the scale. All the agencies

did good pitches but Mother had the edge.

The people there are on our wavelength in terms of thinking and

personalities.’

Robert Saville, one of the founders of Mother, said: ’We are all sold on

the new magazine. Now we’ve got to convince a couple of hundred thousand

others.’

The Wagadon magazine promises to be fashion-led but feature-focused, and

aims to attract an ’informed, enlightened and mature’ readership.

Rocket has been appointed to handle the media.
