Walker Media, launched three years ago, has appointed a management board as it matures into a pounds 164 million billing agency.
Its founders, Christine Walker and Phil Georgiadis, will sit on the board alongside the existing managing partners, Jon Horrocks, Steve Anderson and Nicki Hare, who has been promoted.
Hare's promotion plugs the gap left by Andrew Sherman, who is leaving the agency to join MediaVest in a senior planning role. Hare will head accounts including British Airways and Channel 5.
Commenting on the decision to create a board, Georgiadis said: 'It's sometimes easy for Christine and I to forget that we are still a young company, but in many ways old beyond our years in terms of our size and billings. So while wanting to retain informality and direct access we do recognise it's time to create a more formal structure with a degree of clarity for both our staff and clients.'
The management board will be in addition to the agency's existing shareholders' board, which includes Georgiadis, Walker and management from its joint venture partner, M&C Saatchi. The board will meet every three months and will oversee the agency's training, new business, marketing and personnel matters.
Walker Media has also promoted Josh Howdle Fuller to the position of group account director, following Hare's promotion. He will continue to manage his existing client portfolio but will take on additional responsibilities.
Georgiadis added: 'Both Nicki and Josh were members of the founding team, having both previously worked for M&C Saatchi. We know that they embody the key principles upon which the business was founded.'
Last year Walker Media picked up the pounds 27 million centralised media account for Marks & Spencer, along with accounts such as Inter Lotto, Workthing.com and Bryant Homes.
