According to 18 Feet & Rising’s chief executive Jonathan Trimble, the competition, which was carried out in partnership with recruitment agency, Gemini People, aims to open the door for "the most untapped resource of all, which is young talent."
"Getting young talent into the industry today is really tough," he continues. With channels such as YouTube making it possible to broadcast ideas without the help of advertising agencies, "it’s really important that we find ways to get that creative talent into the business."
According to Anna Carpen, 18 Feet & Rising’s executive creative director, the current "dark" state of advertising can also present an opportunity for all aspiring creatives to cut through the noise with great ideas."
Following a day working on a live brief, the contestants presented their ideas to the agency.
Competition winners Tony Roberts, Eva Steiner and Blaz Verhnjak, will start the paid creative placements in September.
