Watch a five-year-old Boris in Green Party election broadcast

The Green Party has cast political figures like Boris Johnson and Liz Kendall as five-year-olds squabbling in a playground in its election broadcast ahead of the local elections in May.

Creature of London created the ad, which introduces the movers and shakers of the political establishment as children squabbling with each other in a documentary-style film. For instance, a five-year-old Jeremy Corbyn gets upset because he doesn't like the others playing with rockets while mini-Theresa May throws all her dolls away while playing immigration.

At the end of the spot, the action cuts away to a contrasting Green Party spokeswoman (who is an adult) who talks about the party's focus on the common good before urging people to vote Green at the elections on 5 May.

There are two versions of the film with speeches from the Green Party spokeswoman tailored to either the London mayoral election or the national local elections.

Stu Outhwaite, a Creature of London partner, said: "It's rare to be given the opportunity to create genuinely distinct work with an essential message at its heart. The Green Party offers us this time and time again and they are a joy to work with. Here's hoping their message is heard loud and clear."

The new ad was created by Lydia Raghaven and Tori Fannon, and directed by Neil Harris through Smuggler. It aired on TV today (6 April).

Previous political broadcast ads by Creature for the Green Party include "change the tune" which portrayed various party leaders as boy-band members ahead of the 2015 general election, and "Nick vs Nigel: the great Euro debate".
