Watson emerges as joint CEO of heavy hitting new media group

LONDON – Ellis Watson, who founded News Internationalís CurrantBun.com, has surfaced as part of a team of media, internet and entertainment executives who are to launch a digital messaging and information service, called TalkCast.

The TalkCast team was put together by the investment bank, Durlacher and will be chaired by Frank Herman, who was managing director of Sega Europe. Watson, who was head of NIís free internet service provider, will be joint chief executive with Mark Opzoomer, who helped create Sega Europe.

Toby Constantine, the former marketing director of Times Newspapers, will be content director; John Revell, who was chief executive of Ginger Productions, will be entertainment director, and Roy Bliss, who was managing director of Demon Internet, becomes managing director of operations.

TalkCast, which has already raised around £20 million in venture capital, will offer customers the content they would like and the choice of having it delivered over any device, be it cell phone, internet or television.
