WCRS has appointed Oscar Nieboer to handle the pounds 15 million
Camelot business which has been run by the agency’s managing director,
Stephen Woodford, since WCRS won the account from Saatchi & Saatchi in
August.
Nieboer joins from J. Walter Thompson, where he was a director in charge
of the Daily Telegraph, Merrill Lynch and the BT code change
accounts.
He worked closely with Ian Milligan, Camelot’s marketing director on a
number of accounts including Frosties, when Milligan was at Kellogg’s
two years ago.
’This is the right agency, the right position and the right assignment
at the right time,’ Nieboer said. ’WCRS is on a roll. It has strong
creative credentials and the casting of senior management is critical at
this time.’
Nieboer, who will report to Woodford, began his career as a graduate
trainee at Ogilvy & Mather, joining the creative department as a
copywriter under Mark Wnek.
After 18 months at O&M, Nieboer went to Grey Advertising, where he spent
a year working with clients including Procter & Gamble and Bacardi,
before joining JWT five years ago.
Woodford said: ’Oscar has just the right personal qualities, experience
and position to head up our Camelot team. Our campaign has got off to a
very strong start and he is the man to see it through from strength to
strength.’
