WCRS wins creative for Scoot after fight with TBWA and BMP

Scoot, the listings company, has handed its multimillion pound creative account to WCRS.

Scoot, the listings company, has handed its multimillion pound

creative account to WCRS.

WCRS pitched against TBWA GGT Simons Palmer and BMP DDB, the incumbent,

in a full-scale review that also included media and direct marketing.

But no decision has yet been made on either media, held by OMD UK, or

direct marketing, held by Tequila.

Scoot plans to position itself as an ’infomediary’ between businesses

and consumers. It will concentrate on the five key markets of travel and

entertainment, motoring, retail, business services and homes and

gardens.

It is understood that the company wants to build up its consumer profile

in the face of competition from BT’s Yellow Pages and Yell brands. The

company recently bought Loot, the free classified ads publisher, for

pounds 189.5 million.

Neither Scoot nor WCRS were available for comment on the win as Campaign

went to press.
