Weapon7 swoops to to hire LBi's Garner

LONDON - Jeremy Garner, the creative director at LBi, has been hired by Weapon7 to take an equivalent role at the integrated agency.

He replaces David Howlett, the former creative director who left the agency in September to pursue a career as an actor.

Garner, who co-founded glue London and the BloodPartnership before joining LBi in April 2006, will join the Weapon7 management line-up next month and will report to the chief executive, Steven Hess.

In his new role, Garner will take responsibility for creative output across the agency's portfolio of clients, with particular focus on its Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Cadbury and Sony accounts.

Weapon7 recently inherited the Mercedes below-the-line account from fellow Omnicom agency Claydon Heeley as a result of the disbanding of the Zulu network in March.

Garner's appointment coincides with that of James Pais, who is joining Weapon7 as its operations director from the integrated agency Elvis Communications.
