Webflix and PlayJam in joint promo to collect emails

LONDON - OpenTV's PlayJam, the interactive gaming channel, is launching a drive to gather the email addresses of its millions of viewers in the UK.

The channel has teamed up with Webflix to run a promotion that will see players on PlayJam offered a month's worth of free DVDs if they register a high score.

At the end of every game on PlayJam, players are invited to register high scores. In return for an email address, viewers will receive a month's worth of free DVD rentals by logging on to the Webflix site to redeem their prize. Webflix is set to benefit by receiving increased traffic to its site.

Jim Harrison, channel manager of PlayJam, said: "Teaming with Webflix is a strategic move for both parties. Our demographics are similar, therefore we expect our viewers will enjoy the Webflix incentive. This campaign is a brilliant opportunity for PlayJam to collect data and drive traffic to the Webflix website."

The campaign runs until the middle of September.
