The Week: Advertising - DoH slashes adspend

The Department of Health is to slash spending on its sexual health campaigns by one third, according to the public health minister, Caroline Flint. In reply to a question posed in Hansard, Flint said budgets for 2007/2008 would be £4 million, which is substantially less than the £6 million it spent on last year's "condom essential wear" campaign. The DoH said that spend had been higher in 2006 because of the costs of setting up the campaign.
