The Week: Advertising News - AA rejects Which? findings

The Advertising Association has rejected claims made in a Which? report that parents support a ban on cartoon characters being used to advertise junk food to children. The report, called Cartoon Heroes and Villains, named some of the worst offenders as The Simpsons, Bratz and Shrek. The AA said the industry has already made significant steps to curb the practice, and that the research was compiled before Ofcom's first set of rules on junk-food advertising to children launched on 1 July.
