The Week: Advertising News - ASA complaints spiralling
Complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority are likely to double by the end of 2007 compared with 2006, according to the regulator, which has received 1,749 complaints about 523 ads so far, and is anticipating receiving more during the busy pre-Christmas advertising period. The ASA is to strengthen its procedures as a result of the rise, which particularly concern complaints over violence in ads such as this year's MFI campaign.
