The Week: Advertising news - Asda drops McLoughlin

Asda has dropped Coleen McLoughlin as the face of its advertising after her £3 million two-year contract came to an end.

According to reports, the supermarket chain feels that at 22, McLoughlin is too young to represent the brand's George clothing range, which it wants to target at the over-25s, and is planning to approach more upmarket celebrities such as Joanna Lumley, Helen Mirren, Carla Bruni and Sienna Miller.
