The Week: Advertising news - Asda pulls cheap bike ad

Asda has had to withdraw a TV ad for what it boasts is "Britain's cheapest bike" after viewers complained that the bike featured was incorrectly assembled and could be dangerous.

The £70 bike is self-assembly and the pedals, front wheel, handlebars and saddle have to be attached to the frame by the customer. Asda said that the TV ad was pulled as soon as the error was spotted.
