The Department for Children, Schools and Families spent £6.04 million on advertising in the 12 months to April 2009, compared with £8.52 million for the same time period the year before, including a £2.5 million campaign against teenage pregnancy. However, the figures for 2008/09 only include costs invoiced to date, so the total may still climb.
